Improve your photography and experience the stunning scenery and unique culture of an offshore island on the stunning Wild Atlantic Way. The course is led by Anthony McGeehan, a renowned bird expert, published author and photographer, and regular visitor to Inishbofin. Anthony’s work can be seen in his books ‘Birds Through Irish Eyes’ and ‘Birds of the Homeplace’ as well as on Anthony McGeehan Photography facebook page.
The course involves taught morning photography sessions at 3 spectacular locations: St. Coleman’s church/ Duach beach, Cromwell’s castle and our bird feeding station.
Then participants can upload their photos for critique/ learn computer skills and work on improving their photography technique and editing. The group will eat together in the evening and this gives the opportunity to discuss many aspects of photography, birdwatching and island life.
Ferry to Inishbofin departs from Cleggan at 11.30am. Course starts at 1pm with informal briefing over coffee/lunch.
We have 3 outdoor locations to chose from:
1) our feeding station behind the hotel affords clients the chance to get close up photos and really hone their skills. They will each get their own time in a bird hide. This is a unique feature which will really enhance the product.
2) St. Coleman’s Monastery and graveyard, with 7th Century crosses, Church Lough, Duach Beach and beautiful wild landscapes.
3) Trip to Cromwell’s Castle, a site of archaeological importance followed by visit to Inishbofin Heritage Museum, showcasing island culture and heritage.
In the afternoons/evening participants can upload their photos for critique/ learn computer skills and work on improving their photography technique and editing.
Relax and enjoy a group dinner every evening, with informal discussion/slideshow. Course ends at 1pm on final day, ferry departs at 5pm
