The Dolphin Hotel is located on Inishbofin Island and accessible only by ferry. The ferry departs from Cleggan in Co. Galway, just outside Clifden. Visitors can reach the ferry departure point in Cleggan by road or the regular bus service.
We provide a shuttle service from the pier where you will be met by Pat and shuttled to our hotel.

Take the N59 from Galway City. Follow N59 and directions all the way to Clifden. On arrival in Clifden, take the right turn that continues the N59, signposted “Westport”. After a few kilometers (about 10 minutes by car) there will be a slight left signposted Cleggan and Inishbofin. Take this exit and follow it straight into Cleggan.
Take the N59 from Westport. Follow N59 for approximately 60 kilometers passing through Letterfrack and Moyard. A few kilometers passed Moyard will be a sharp right turn signposted “Cleggan” and “Inishbofin”. Take this exit and follow it straight into Cleggan.
Take the N59 from Clifden. After a few kilometers there will be a slight left signposted “Cleggan” and “Inishbofin”. Take this exit and follow it straight into Cleggan.
Nearby Cycling Routes The Western Greenway runs between Westport and Achill, with plans to extend to Galway city. http://greenway.ie/
Inishbofin is perfect for cycling and you can bring your bike on the ferry for a small fee.
